La Porta del Mare
Seaport has a self life into a suspended space, and as a place for transitions; it is a door opening to the sea.
Suspension is an existential feature typical of our time, in a world dominated by insecurity and shakiness of daily life.
The man of nowadays lives on waiting for a change, on a transition towards a new world, something like a transformation to enlighten a way which is uncertain and full of fear of the unknown.
Life is like a meditative limbo at the seaport, where sea water helps to enter the inner thoughts, all the hidden fears, but also the almost unrealizable dreams. Seated by the sea, the observer looks into himself, gazing at the limitless horizon. Hope lives in all the strenght of its gestures and in the obstination for believing in its own vital force
Three women are living the scene as three lost souls, and they are searching for their own way to follow. They are living the suspension of their own privacy, waiting for a passage through that “door of the sea”.
Sometimes music refers to the desolation of the lost soul, or the most lively sounds of that place’s breaths, and it guides the characters’ trip in the arms of that seaport, or the flights of seagulls and their delicate perching on the water surface, waiting for a change to arrive.
